Day 1.
Depart from
London on a scheduled EL AL flight to Tel Aviv's Ben Gurion Airport.
Transfer by air-conditioned coach to your Hotel/Youth Hostel in
the Galilee. Overnight in Galilee (or Netanya for late arriving
flights)

Day 2.
Following
breakfast, the day begins with a boat ride on the wonderful Sea
of Galilee. Following this we travel North to through the Hula
Valley Nature Reserve, arguably the world's best bird spotting
site, to Banyas and the source of the River Jordan. Time to get
wet, as you white water raft on the famous River Jordan. On the
slower stretches of the river you will notice the many turtles
that inhabit the water. Next we travel to the summit of the spectacular
Golan Heights which overlook neighboring Syria and provide spectacular
views of the Galilee. Overnight in Galilee.

Day 3.
A day exploring
Galilee's great history and immense spiritual significance. The
day starts with a visit to the busy Arab town of Nazareth, the
childhood home of Jesus Christ. You will see the Church of the
|
|
|
|
|
Annunciation,
traditionally the sight associated with the Mary's visitation by
Angels. The Church built over the only spring and water supply in
Nazareth, where Jesus and his family must have visited on many occasions.
From here we visit Acco with its ancient crusader fortress where
you will be able to wander through the maze of dark narrow tunnels
and enjoy this beautiful Mediterranean Town. Returning to Galilee
we will visit the lakeside town of Capernaum where Jesus lived and
preached. The day will end with a Donkey Trek across the Galilean
Hills. Overnight in Galilee. |

Day 4.
After breakfast
we start the journey south to Jerusalem, but not before visiting
Yardenet a traditional baptismal site on the Jordan. From here
we continue through Beit She'an, a remarkable archaeological site
and the place where King Saul's head was displayed after decapitation.
Following the Jordan Valley we reach Jericho, the world's oldest
city and the world's

lowest
city. Taking the extraordinary Wadi Kelt Road you will see the spectacular
St. George's Monastery built directly into the rock face of the
Gorge. Continue the ascent to the top of the Mount of Olives for
a spectacular first sight of the City of Jerusalem. Check in to
your Hotel/Hostel in Jerusalem and following dinner a trip on the
incredible Jerusalem Time Elevator for a high tech Journey into
the history of the most revered city in the world. Overnight in

Day 5.
A walking
tour through the amazing Old City of Jerusalem. We shall start
at the Dung Gate and visit the Western (Wailing) Wall the most
holy site for Jewish people. Next to the Temple Mount to view
the amazing

|
|
Dome
of the Rock, built on the Temple Mount (the site of Solomon's Temple
and where the Ark of the Covenant rested.) From here to St. Stephen's
Gate to follow the Via Dolarosa and the 14 stages of the cross to
the Church of the Holy Sepulchre, one of just 2 sites regarded as
the place of crucifixion and burial of Jesus. After lunch we make
the short journey to Bethlehem where you will visit the Church of
the Holy Nativity, widely accepted as being built over the cave
where Jesus was born. You will view the Shepherd's Fields before
a return to Jerusalem. Overnight in Jerusalem. |

Day 6.
Today we descend
to the lowest point on the surface of the earth at 1305 feet (398m)
below sea level as we explore the extraordinary Dead Sea. We will
pass Qumran where a young shepherd boy discovered the Dead Sea
Scrolls, what for many, is the most important archaeological find
ever made. On to the amazing Masada which you will reach by cable
car. You will here of the amazing courage shown against Rome and
all its might. Next we visit the En Gedi Spa where there will
be time to float in the unsinkable Dead Sea, to take a Mud Bath
to enjoy a bath in the Natural Hot Sulphur Springs as well as
a relaxing time in and around the outdoor swimming pool. If time
permits, a walk into the En Gedi Nature Reserve, where if you
are fortunate you might see a leopard before reaching the beautiful
dessert oasis where David spared King Saul's life. Next a drive
to Mamshit for a night in the dessert and a Bedouin Experience.
You will enjoy a "Hafla" the traditional Bedouin meal. Overnight
in the dessert.

Day 7.
After breakfast,
a Camel ride in the dessert before returning to Jerusalem. A time
for reflection as we visit Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum. From
here we take a short tour of the new City of Jerusalem passing
the Knesset and the Shrine of the Book. Next to the Garden of
Gethsemane where Jesus spent some of his last hours among the
ancient Olive trees. From here we visit the Garden tomb, the other
site regarded by many as the place of the crucifixion and burial
of Jesus. Overnight in Jerusalem.
Day
8.
Time permitting
an opportunity in the morning to shop and barter in the Bazaar
before our transfer to Ben Gurion airport for the return scheduled
EL AL flight to London.
