Tel
Aviv, often referred to as the New York of the middle East, is Israel's
largest metropolis. It is also the centre of Israeli culture, entertainment
and commerce.
But
somehow Tel Aviv has managed to retain its 'village' atmosphere with
more sidewalk cafes per square meter than anyone can imagine. It is
also a seaside a seaside resort which makes it ideal for anyone wanting
a mix of city culture and beach holiday.
There
is a wide choice of accommodation to suit all tastes and budgets ranging
from the small and simple to five star deluxe. The major hotels are
situated right on the sea front and are within walking distance of
the main entertainment and shopping areas of Tel Aviv.
You
cannot get bored in Tel Aviv, it's very much a 'happening' city, with
great nightlife, several museums, art galleries, theaters, bustling
markets, restaurants, culture festivals and the beach of course.
Jaffa,
one of the oldest cities in the world, is right next to Tel Aviv.
Its from here that Jonah boarded the ship for Tarshish in his attempt
to flee the instructions from G-d. Today it's a bustling colourful
town with some excellent seafood restaurants, an artists colony and
one of the best flea markets of its kind. Definitely worth a visit.
Tel
Aviv is a good base for touring, Jerusalem being only 40 minutes drive
away and the Galilee approx. 2 hours drive away. Getting around is
easy, Israel's bus service is extensive, cheap and efficient. If you
prefer to drive, the main roads are very good and well signposted,

Jerusalem

Jerusalem
is a city like no other. It ranks as one of the most beautiful
and inspiring cities in the world.
There
is so much to see and experience, it would take months to do
it properly. However, to get most from your visit and to see
the important sights, it would be best to divide the city into
two first visit East Jerusalem and the Old City where you will
find the Dome of the Rock, the Western Wall, the Church of the
Holy Sepulchre, Via Dolorosa, the Garden of Gethsemene and the
bustling Old City bazaar.

Haifa

Haifa
is Israel's third largest city and most important port. It is
also the international headquarters for the Bahai faith.
The
golden-domed Bahai shrine and Gardens is Haifa's most impressive
sightseeing attraction and visitors from all over the world
come here to experience it's sheer beauty. Haifa has many good
beaches, several interesting museums, restaurants and sidewalk
cafes. It also boasts Israel's largest national park; the Carmel
National park often called 'little Switzerland'. A beautiful
forest of pine, eucalyptus and cypress trees with picnic areas
and magnificent views.
